Butts Piece butterflies
The continuing warm weather has produced good numbers of butterflies; apart from the various whites, there were Holly Blues and Orange-tips around the woodland edges, and Speckled Woods throughout the woodland. The Holly Blues were mostly high up, and I didn’t get a photo; Orange-tips don’t settle for long, but one stayed on the garlic mustard for a moment.
Speckled Woods seem to settle with their wings closed, but if you cast a shadow over them they open them. Have to be quick, though.
