
Common enough, but this is the first time I’ve photographed one, bringing the number of bird species I’ve documented so far up to 24 – with many more that have so far proved too fast, too small or too well hidden.

Its very difficult to photographs them from up close. Even with long lenses I found it hard to shoot one closely. I guess this silhouette is a good way to picture them.

Thanks, Ranjay. I used a 1.7x teleconverter, but even then I was lucky to get the bird anywhere near in focus!
